Media Advisory/Photo opportunity: Last truckload of garbage from Toronto to landfill in Michigan
  
Media are invited to join Councillor Denzil Minnan-Wong (Ward 34 Don Valley East), Chair of the Public Works and Infrastructure Committee, and Deputy City Manager Richard Butts for a photo opportunity tomorrow morning as the last truckload of garbage bound for Michigan's Carlton Farms Landfill leaves Toronto.

Date: Thursday, December 30
Time: 11 a.m.
Location: Commissioners Street Transfer Station, 400 Commissioners St. (at Bouchette and Commissioners streets)

Directions: Commissioners Street is south of Lake Shore Boulevard, running east from Cherry Street to Leslie Street. The transfer station is three blocks east of Cherry Street between Bouchette Street and Logan Avenue. The entrance is off Bouchette Street. Use the north driveway (scale house). Map:

Starting January 1, all of Toronto's waste requiring landfill disposal will go to the City-owned Green Lane Landfill in Elgin County west of Toronto.
