Yonge Street hosts the Celebrate Toronto Street Festival - Road Closures |  | | | |
TORONTO, ONTARIO - The annual Celebrate Toronto Street Festival
transforms the city¡¦s famous Yonge Street into 500,000 square feet of fabulous
free entertainment featuring 5 festival sites, 12 stages, 1250 performers and
more than 750 things to see and do! To accommodate this exciting event, the
following roads will be closed for the celebration, July 5, 6 and 7, 2002:
ROAD CLOSURES
Lawrence:
Yonge Street south of St. Germaine Avenue to the north side
of Bedford Park Avenue from 7 p.m. on Friday, July 5 until 11:59 p.m. on
Sunday, July 7
Eglinton:
Yonge Street north of Soudan Avenue to the south side of
Eglinton Avenue from 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 4 until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday,
July 7.
Yonge Street south of Briar Hill Avenue to north of Eglinton
Avenue from 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 5 until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 7.
Eglinton Avenue west of Holly Street to east of Duplex Avenue
from 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 5 until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, July 7.
St. Clair:
Yonge Street north of St. Clair Avenue to the south side of
Heath Street from 7 p.m. on Friday, July 5 until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday,
July 7.
Yonge Street south of St. Clair Avenue to the north side of
Rosehill Avenue from 7 p.m. on Friday, July 5 until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday,
July 7.
Bloor:
Yonge Street south of Bloor Street to the north side of
Wellesley Street from 7 p.m. on Friday, July 5 until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday,
July 7.
Dundas:
Yonge Street south of Dundas Street to the north side of
Shuter Street from 7 p.m. on Friday, July 5 until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday,
July 7.
Yonge Street south of Shuter Street to the north side of
Queen Street from 7 p.m. on Friday, July 5 until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday,
July 7.
Dundas Square east of Yonge Street to the west side of
Victoria Street from 7 p.m. on Friday, July 5 until 11:59 p.m. on Sunday,
July 7.
The TTC's Family Day Pass, normally only offered on Sundays, will be available
both Saturday, July 6 and Sunday, July 7 to make it easy for the whole family
to enjoy the festival fun at one low price! The Family Day Pass offers up to
six people unlimited one-day travel for only $7.50 per day. Celebrate Toronto
Street Festival sites are located on Yonge Street at the following subway
stations along the Yonge-University line: Dundas, Bloor, St. Clair, Eglinton
and Lawrence.
TTC patrons can also enjoy free parking (subject to availability & change) at
Kipling, Islington, Victoria Park, Warden, Kennedy, Finch, Yorkdale and Wilson
subway stations.
