City of Toronto to celebrate refurbished playground at Brookdale Park
Mayor Rob Ford, Councillor Karen Stintz (Ward 16 Eglinton-Lawrence) and City of Toronto staff will join Sherri Glassberg of the Brookdale Park Working Group and community members for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the refurbishment of Brookdale Park's playground.

Date: Wednesday, July 30 (rain date: July 31)
Time: 4 to 5:30 p.m., remarks at 4:15 p.m.
Location: 410 Fairlawn Ave., at park entrance near Avenue Road and Woburn Avenue

The City has invested about $400,000 to improve the park's playground with new equipment and other features. Brookdale Park is one of four park investment projects in Ward 16.

A local working group made up of community members helped guide each phase of the playground's planning and design. The improvements include new play equipment, rubber-tile surfacing, a sandbox, park benches, paved walkways, seat walls, landscaping and light standards.
