Mike Holmes to 'make it right' at Toronto's Jamie Bell Playground

Councillor Sarah Doucette (Ward 13 Parkdale-High Park) will be joined by Councillor Norm Kelly (Ward 40 Scarborough Agincourt), Chair of the Parks and Environment Committee, Mike Holmes, host of Holmes Makes it Right on HGTV Canada, and landscape architect Janet Rosenberg to announce plans to rebuild High Park's Jamie Bell Playground. The playground was damaged by fire in March.

Date: Friday, May 18
Time: 1 p.m.
Location: Jamie Bell Playground, High Park

This ambitious rebuild project will begin immediately and is expected to be completed in early July. The project will be filmed for an episode of Holmes Makes it Right on HGTV Canada.

This project has been made possible through the generous donations of sponsors including Canadian Tire, Lowe’s Home Improvement Warehouse, the Sprott Foundation and TD Bank Group.

Complete details and project fundraising announcements will be provided at this event. Mike Holmes and Councillor Doucette will be available for interviews.

Launched in 1998, the Jamie Bell Playground is a one-of-a-kind family meeting place that was inspired and built by the imagination and creativity of the local community and its children. A fire at the playground on March 17 destroyed a large portion of the popular structure.
