City of Toronto to officially open Joel Weeks Park
  
Councillor Paula Fletcher (Ward 30 Toronto-Danforth), City of Toronto staff and representatives of Toronto Community Housing will join members of the community to officially open Joel Weeks Park. The celebration will include a barbecue organized by the local community.

Date: Saturday, September 15
Time: Noon to 8 p.m., remarks and ribbon cutting at 2 p.m.
Location: Joel Weeks Park, 10 Thompson St.

The new park was designed by Toronto landscape architecture firm Janet Rosenberg & Associates, using input from community workshops. The park's features include pathways lined by river plantings, benches, a shade-tree grove, grassed mounds, a unique water feature, a children's playground, and community planting areas.
