City of Toronto and Rogers TV launch new television program, City Insider
On Tuesday, October 16 at 10:30 p.m., Rogers TV, in co-operation with the City of Toronto, will launch a new bi-weekly television program called City Insider. The program will feature stories about City programs and services, new initiatives, events and the people who make up the Toronto Public Service.

City Insider will air on Rogers TV, cable 10/63 in Toronto/Scarborough, which currently broadcasts the monthly Toronto City Council meetings.

The show will provide a balanced mix of information, drawing on the City’s publication model of the Our Toronto newsletter that is currently delivered three times a year to all households in the City of Toronto. It will present a combination of on-camera interviews with staff as well as with Torontonians who benefit from and participate in City programs, and will include an in-depth feature from the Toronto Archives on Toronto's rich history

"This is a wonderful opportunity for the City of Toronto to showcase the services we provide to the public," said City Manager Joe Pennachetti. "City Insider will provide an inside look at City services, events and programs."

“Rogers TV has a long history of collaborative work with the City of Toronto," said Rogers TV Station Manager Annie Hadida. “We’re delighted to be able to bring this new show to our viewers in Toronto.”

The first episode of this program will air Tuesday, October 16 at 10:30 p.m. and then every second Tuesday thereafter.

Feature segments in the first episode include an inside look at how the City sorts recycling at the Dufferin Material Recovery Facility and RESCU, Toronto’s Traffic Management Centre. The episode also takes a look at the city's trees on Toronto Island and finally, an archival piece on Terry Fox's visit to the Scarborough Civic Centre. Visit for additional air times.
