St. Lawrence Market celebrating Mother's Day in the kitchen

Toronto's St. Lawrence Market is celebrating Mother's Day by presenting a hands-on cooking class with the market's professional chef. Here is an opportunity to do something fun and engaging with your mom and show her how much you appreciate her. The class runs from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, May 6 - two days before Mother's Day on May 8.

In this class, participants will be preparing a three-course meal for their mothers. The menu starts with a grilled pear salad with goat cheese and walnuts, followed by the main dish of lemon salmon with mango papaya salsa and finished with a light dessert of apricot crostata with cardamom whipped cream.

To attend the Mother's Day cooking session, participants can register themselves and their mom by calling 416-860-0727 or by e-mailing kitchen@stlawrencemarket.com..

Cooking classes are held in the Miele gallery at the Market Kitchen, located on the west mezzanine of the South Market. The fee is $85 a person.

St. Lawrence Market is a renowned international food market. More than 120 merchants and vendors serve the freshest produce, meats and baked goods. Located in Old Town Toronto, at Front Street East and Jarvis Street, St. Lawrence Market is spread throughout the South and North Market buildings.
