Seniors tune up for the Toronto Challenge presented by MonsterMortgage.ca with jazz great Peter Appleyard
  

Celebrated jazz musician Peter Appleyard will be joined by Councillor Janet Davis (Ward 31 Beaches-East York), Vice Chair of the Community Development and Recreation Committee, Vince Gaetano, Vice President of MonsterMortgage.ca to promote this year's Toronto Challenge presented by MonsterMortgage.ca. Toronto Challenge is the annual fundraising event for the City of Toronto's Long-Term Care homes and community agencies that provide services and support to Toronto seniors.

Location: Bendale Acres, 2920 Lawrence Ave. E.

Appleyard, who will be inducted into the Scarborough Walk of Fame on May 12, will share motivational stories from his career and show residents of Bendale Acres and Brimley Acres along with other Toronto Challenge supporters how to play the "two-finger piano."

The Toronto Challenge presented by MonsterMortgage.ca will be held at Metro Hall on June 12. The event features a 5k run, 5k walk and 1k walk on a scenic course though the Entertainment District with prizes awarded to participants in all age categories.
