Councillor Gord Perks (Ward 14 Parkdale-High Park), Chair of the Toronto and East York Community Council, will join City of Toronto staff at a reception to recognize 190 people for their dedication and valuable contributions as community recreation volunteers in Toronto and East York District.

Date: Wednesday, April 27
Time: Reception at 6:30 p.m.; awards presentation at 8 p.m.

Four individual awards will be announced: Youth Group of the Year, Youth of the Year, Group of the Year and Volunteer of the Year.

Volunteers play an essential role in supporting the delivery of community recreation services - from participating on advisory councils and reference groups to assisting staff with the delivery of sports and leisure club activities and special events.
