City of Toronto to celebrate new playground equipment at Franklin Park
Councillor John Filion (Ward 23 Willowdale) and City of Toronto staff will join members of the community in a ceremony to celebrate the new equipment in the Franklin Park playground, which was generously donated by the Aki Latvala Foundation.

Date: Saturday, June 22
Time: 1:15 to 2 p.m., remarks: 1:30 p.m.
Location: Franklin Park, 138 Franklin Ave.

In addition to the new play structure, this neighbourhood park features new benches, stone seating, a picnic table, a new wooden fence and a crushed stone pathway.

The Aki Latvala Foundation was formed in 2006 by friends to honour and continue the legacy of giving by the late Aki Latvala, who lived a short distance from Franklin Park and took pride in his Finnish and Canadian heritage. He was also committed to causes that helped children and youth.
