Statement from Mayor Rob Ford

This afternoon, I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn that three children were struck, one fatally, by a City garbage truck. It’s with a heavy heart that I extend my deepest condolences to the victims during this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers, and I’m sure those of every parent in Toronto, are with the children, their families and friends. We will do everything we can to assist the families. The City will cooperate fully with the investigation.

Toronto is Canada's largest city and sixth largest government, and home to a diverse population of about 2.8 million people. Toronto's government is dedicated to delivering customer service excellence, creating a transparent and accountable government, reducing the size and cost of government and building a transportation city.
