Workshops to explore solutions for seniors' housing and services in downtown Toronto

Seniors are facing growing needs for housing and services in downtown Toronto. The Performing Arts Lodge Toronto and the City of Toronto's Affordable Housing Office have organized an Action for Seniors Charrette with lodge residents to help identify and advocate for solutions.

Date: Thursday, March 21
Time: Noon to 4 p.m. (brief speeches at 12:30 p.m.; event open to media throughout afternoon)
Location: Performing Arts Lodge, Green Room, 110 the Esplanade (near the St. Lawrence Market)

Councillor Pam McConnell (Ward 28 Toronto Centre-Rosedale) and former Toronto Mayor David Crombie will join residents of the Performing Arts Lodge, government officials and non-profit organizations in the lodge's Green Room.

Toronto is Canada's largest city and sixth largest government, and home to a diverse population of about 2.8 million people. Toronto's government is dedicated to delivering customer service excellence, creating a transparent and accountable government, reducing the size and cost of government and building a transportation city. For information on non-emergency City services and programs, Toronto residents, businesses and visitors can dial 311, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
