Media advisory - City Planners consult with public "on-the-move"
Beginning June 23, the City of Toronto will be hosting three special “meetings-on-the-move” as part of the Feeling Congested? transportation consultation. Senior City Planning staff will host these special meetings - on a bus, on bicycles and on foot.

Many people have registered online to participate in these unique public meetings, which aim to address commuters' frustrations with congestion.

Members of the media are invited to join the “meetings-on-the-move” on a bus, bicycle or walking route. The focus of each meeting will be the particular mode of the meeting (i.e., walking, cycling and transit).

Meetings-on-the-move schedule:

Cycling Tour (with Chief Planner Jennifer Keesmaat)
Date: Sunday, June 23
Time: 12 noon to 2 p.m.
Location: Nathan Phillips Square, 100 Queen St. W.

Walking Tour (with Director, Transportation Planning, Tim Laspa; hosted by Jane’s Walk)
Date: Sunday, June 23
Time: 12 noon to 2 p.m.
Location: Islington Subway Station, 3286 Bloor St. W.

Transit Tour (with Chief Planner Jennifer Keesmaat)
Date: Monday, June 24
Time: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Location: Kennedy Subway Station, 2455 Eglinton Ave. E.

Two additional public events will also take place this month:

A discussion panel featuring leading experts on transit, cities, health and the economy will take place Wednesday, June 26 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Jane Mallett Theatre at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts, 27 Front St. E. RSVP at

A general public meeting will take place on Thursday, June 27 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Metro Hall, 55 John St. in rooms 308/309.

About the Feeling Congested? transportation consultation
The goal of the Feeling Congested? transportation consultation is to engage Torontonians on a range of issues related to transportation planning, priorities and funding. This engagement will support and inform the current review of the City's Official Plan transportation policies, the development of a new long-term transportation plan, and the development of a funding and investment strategy.
