Toronto's Close the Housing Gap campaign heading to Ottawa
Close the Housing Gap will take its message from Toronto to Parliament Hill tomorrow as the social housing campaign continues to gain momentum and supporters. Social housing tenants, stakeholders and politicians will head from Toronto to Ottawa for a rally taking place at Parliament Hill between 1 and 2 p.m. on Wednesday.

Date: Wednesday, November 20
Time: 7:30 a.m. for photo op - bus departure
Location: Nathan Phillips Square, 100 Queen St. W.

The Close the Housing Gap campaign calls on the federal and provincial governments to put people first by contributing one third each to the funding of social housing capital repairs and by making new, long-term funding available for social and affordable housing.

Toronto is Canada's largest city and sixth largest government, and home to a diverse population of about 2.8 million people. Toronto's government is dedicated to delivering customer service excellence, creating a transparent and accountable government, reducing the size and cost of government and building a transportation city.
