City of Toronto launches Etobicoke Green Bin Program and Dufferin Organics Processing Facility

Place: The Dufferin Organics Processing Facility
35 Vanley Cres. (in North York, off Chesswood near Dufferin & Finch,
same location as Dufferin Materials Recovery Facility)

The City of Toronto will launch its latest diversion initiative, the Green Bin
Program, which adds organics collection to the currently available garbage,
recycling and yard waste collection at 70,000 single family households in
Etobicoke starting the week of September 17, 2002. The launch will take place
at the new Dufferin Organics Processing Facility which will receive and process
the collected organics. Attendees will have an opportunity to tour this new
facility, view the organics processing operation and learn about the Green Bin
Program.

N.B. PHOTO OPPORTUNITY:
A local launch of the Green Bin Program will be held in Etobicoke in Ward 4 on
Tuesday, September 17, the morning of the first collection.
