Night of Knights helps get home residents back on the road

For the fourth year in a row, the community has stepped in to make a
significant contribution to one of Toronto's directly operated Homes for the
Aged. Through the 4th annual Night of Knights, over $50,000 will be raised to
help buy a new, specially equipped bus for the residents of Castleview Wychwood
Towers.

The Night of Knights, sponsored by the Father Sean O'Sullivan Bay Street
Council (No. 12248) of the Knights of Columbus, the Castleview Wychwood Towers
Volunteers and a variety of corporate partners, takes place on Thursday,
January 10, 2002. The event includes a concert by the Toronto Philharmonia at
the Toronto Centre for the Arts. The orchestra will take the audience on a
"trip to the movies", performing themes from such well-known films as Four
Weddings and a Funeral, Amadeus and The Godfather. As well, guests and sponsors
will attend a dinner at Novotel Hotel prior to the performance. All
concertgoers will be invited to bid in a silent auction before and after the
performance, and to attend a post-performance reception sponsored by Rogers
Cable.

Castleview Wychwood Towers has a long tradition of providing quality long-term
care to 456 residents. This home has a city on its doorstep, but many residents
rely on assistance with transportation to help them cross this doorstep. But
the bus needs to be replaced, and funds raised through the Night of Knights
will be used to meet this urgent need.
