Toronto Parks and Recreation and Culture Programs and Services Update
  
City of Toronto culture and recreation programs and permits that are underway
will continue to their normal conclusion times today. No new programs, classes
or permits will begin after 12:01 p.m., when members of CUPE Local 416 began
their walkout. City staff are taking precautions to ensure the safety and
security of users affected by the closure of facilities.

Drop-in programs for children and youth at community centres will continue to 6
p.m. today, Wednesday, June 26.

Ferry service to the Toronto Islands has stopped. Arrangements are in place to
return members of the public already on the Islands to the mainland.
Alternative arrangements for residents of the Toronto Islands are in place.

As of tomorrow, Thursday, June 27, all parks and recreation and culture
facilities will be closed and all programs cancelled pending resolution of the
labour action by CUPE Local 416.
