Don Valley Parkway closed for maintenance on weekend

Works and Emergency Services - All lanes of the Don Valley Parkway will be
closed in both directions from the F.G. Gardiner Expressway to Highway 401 for
maintenance and construction work from Friday, November 1 at 11 p.m. to Monday,
November 4 at 5 a.m.

The work activities planned include bridge rehabilitation at Eglinton Avenue
and St. Dennis Drive, work on the Queen Street Viaduct and the Bloor Street
Viaduct, TTC maintenance work and lighting work. Other general maintenance will
include guide rail repairs, pavement markings and catch-basin cleaning to
ensure that the Don Valley Parkway is ready for winter.

"The work is being undertaken to ensure safe and comfortable travel conditions
on the Don Valley Parkway and to protect the long-term value of the City's
transportation assets," said David Kaufman, General Manager, Transportation
Services, Works and Emergency Services.

The work was scheduled for this weekend to avoid conflicts with many major
events that take place in the city throughout the year.

Alternative traffic routes are available and the public is encouraged to use
public transit (TTC and GO) as a convenient, alternative choice.
