Teams from City departments will compete as creative pumpkin carvers at the
annual Halloween Howl, an event promoting the City employee campaign for the
United Way.

Date: Thursday, October 31

Time: Noon

Place: Rotunda, Toronto City Hall

Highlights:
- Pumpkin carving, many of participants in costume (noon to 1 p.m.)
- Auction of carved pumpkins (1:15 p.m.)

The City's United Way campaign team set a goal of $900,000 for the overall City
campaign this year. The Halloween Howl is one of many special events held by
departments and agencies to raise funds and foster enthusiasm for the campaign,
which concludes December 6. The majority of funds raised each year come from
employees' payroll deduction pledges.
