Road, sidewalk and TTC track work on Queen Street East

Works and Emergency Services - The City of Toronto, in conjunction with the
Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), will reconstruct the roads, sidewalks and TTC
tracks along Queen Street East from east of Broadview Avenue to Carlaw Avenue
from August 12 until November. (TTC track replacement will only extend as far
east as Empire Avenue.)

During construction on the TTC tracks, traffic will be reduced to one lane
westbound, and eastbound traffic on Queen Street will be closed. Once the
track work is complete, one lane of traffic in each direction will be
maintained.

A number of TTC routes will be affected by this construction. The Queen
501/301, 502 and 503 streetcars will be replaced by buses. Routes that are
serviced by buses will be re-routed along Carlaw Avenue to Eastern Avenue and
Broadview Avenue. Streetcar traffic will be back in operation beginning
September 1, 2002.

During construction, access to all residences and businesses in the area will
be maintained.

Up-to-date TTC information is available by calling 416-393-INFO (4636) or
visiting the TTC Web site at http://www.ttc.ca.
