EMS paramedic first in Toronto to receive Exemplary Service Medal

Emergency Medical Services - Lieutenant Governor James Bartleman will recognize
the exceptional career of Rick Boustead of Toronto EMS by awarding him the
prestigious Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medal. This is the
first time a City of Toronto Paramedic will receive this honour.

"We are extremely proud of Rick Boustead and his contributions to the paramedic
profession and his commitment to the people of Toronto," said Ron Kelusky,
General Manager of Toronto Emergency Medical Services. "Rick is a well-loved
member of our Toronto EMS family and has made a real difference through his
work in Paramedic education, and his extensive volunteer and community
service."

Rick has served as a Toronto EMS Paramedic for 27 years and has a distinguished
record of service to the citizens of Toronto and his many patients. Since 1999
he has served as Supervisor, Media Relations and Communications. He has been
off work recently due to a serious illness and is currently at Sunnybrook
Hospital.

Please join The Honourable James K. Bartleman, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario
for the presentation of the Exemplary Service Medal to Rick Boustead on
Thursday, June 27, at 1 p.m. in the atrium at Toronto EMS Headquarters, 4330
Dufferin St.

Note: Should the potential labour disruption or a change in Rick's condition
require a change of venue for the event, a media advisory will be issued. You
may also call 416-392-2255 for more information on the venue.
