Blades plus ice plus good music equals fun
Special Events - The month of fun at Cavalcade of Lights continues with free
Thursday lunchtime and Saturday night skating parties on Nathan Phillips
Square's famous outdoor rink underneath the Freedom Arches. The parties,
presented by Toronto Star, feature a mix of live music and Toronto's top radio
station DJs. The parties, part of the month-long seasonal celebrations that
launched with the Cavalcade of Lights Festival and run through to Citytv's
Traditional New Year's Eve Bash, are the perfect location to see the stunning
Cavalcade of Lights exhibition.

The FLOW 93.5 Old School Skate will take place Thursdays, December 5, 12 and 19
from noon to 2 p.m. Flow DJs will be spinning old school disco, classic R&B
and funk to liven up anyone's lunch hour. The station returns on Saturday,
December 7 from 8 to 11 p.m. for the red hot Urban Skate. FLOW DJs Jwyze
(Trauma Unit) and L'il Red (Red's Ride) host the Urban Skate which will feature
DJs Baby Yu and Power and live music by In Essence (R&B), Brass Munk (Hip Hop)
and Blessed (Reggae).

On Saturday, December 14 CHFI's loveable host, Don Daynard, brings the
ever-popular Saturday Night Oldies Show live to the rink at Nathan Phillips
Square. A mix of favourites from the 60s and 70s with artists like The Beatles,
The Supremes and The Jackson 5 creates the ambience of a winter wonderland. The
skating party runs from 6 to 9 p.m.

Closing out the skating party season is the EZ Rock 97.3 and MIX 99.9 skate on
Saturday, December 21. Skaters can enjoy hits from the 80s, 90s and today
performed by local band, By Coincidence. The skating party runs from 8 to 11

Admission to Cavalcade of Lights events are free and getting there couldn't be
easier! Nathan Phillips Square is located at 100 Queen St. W. Take the TTC
Queen Streetcar (501), the Yonge Line subway (exit Queen station) or the
University Line (exit Osgoode station).
