Media Advisory: Second annual Toronto Food Action Awards honour community volunteers
The City of Toronto is hosting the second annual Food Action Awards to honour
the unsung volunteer heroes who have contributed to ensuring Torontonians have
a safe, affordable and nutritious supply of food. Award winners will be
honoured for Lifetime Achievement, Outstanding Achievement and Community Spirit.

Award winners range from students to senior citizens, and activities range from
cooking meals for hundreds of people to creating new community gardens.

Date: Thursday, December 5
Location: Toronto City Hall 100 Queen St. E.
  • Noon: Award-winners' reception (Council Members' Lounge)
  • 1 p.m.: Award ceremony (Council Chambers)

Note: Award winners and Toronto Councillors who serve on the Food and
Hunger Action Committee will be available for interviews following the award
