Don Valley Parkway closed for maintenance on weekend

Works and Emergency Services - All lanes of the Don Valley Parkway will be
closed in both directions from the F.G. Gardiner Expressway to Highway 401 for
maintenance and construction work from Saturday, April 6 at 1 a.m. to Monday,
April 8 at 5 a.m.

If possible, the road may be re-opened at 4 a.m. on Monday, April 8.

The work activities planned include bridge rehabilitation at Eglinton Avenue
and at St. Dennis Drive, work on the Queen Street viaduct, TTC track
inspection/maintenance at the Bloor Street viaduct, maintenance of the lighting
system north of Eglinton Avenue, work on the changeable message sign at
Beechwood Drive and other minor work.

In addition, routine maintenance on the road such as guardrail repairs will be
done.

"The work is being undertaken to ensure safe and comfortable travel conditions
on the Don Valley Parkway and to protect the long-term value of the City's
transportation assets," said David Kaufman, General Manager, Transportation
Services, Works and Emergency Services.

Alternative traffic routes are available and the public is encouraged to
consider using public transit (TTC and GO) as a convenient, alternative choice.
