Cancer roundtable to recommend prevention strategies
  
A roundtable of experts and stakeholders is meeting today to launch an agenda
of cancer prevention strategies for the City of Toronto.

"From Planning to Action" is a forum co-sponsored by Toronto Public Health and
the Toronto Cancer Prevention Coalition. Environmental groups, health care
organizations, academics, unions and all levels of government will gather to
address a range of issues and cancer risk factors, including alcohol, tobacco,
physical activity and occupational and environmental carcinogens.

Recommendations for action will be forwarded to the Board of Health and Toronto
City Council.

Toronto's Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Sheela Basrur, and Fiona Nelson,
incoming chair of the coalition, will summarize the roundtable proceedings and
recommendations at 12:30 p.m.
