Media Invitation: 8th Annual Etobicoke Discover Boating Day for the Elderly and Challenged -- Sunday, August 18

Councillor Peter Milczyn, Chair of Etobicoke's Community Council, is proud to
invite Toronto's media to join the Etobicoke Yacht Club, Mimico Cruising Club,
Lake Shore Yacht Club and the Humber Sailing Club in sponsoring this grand
event for the less fortunate in our community.

Up to 100 mentally, physically, developmentally challenged and elderly guests
will be sharing the day of cruising and merriment with the skippers of over 75
boats. "The City of Toronto partners with the clubs in granting invitations to
over 20 social agencies operating in Toronto, and it makes for a very pleasant
day for the guests", Councillor Milczyn stated today, as the crews readied for
Sunday's event on Etobicoke's lake front.

"I am proud to have been part of Etobicoke Discover Boating Day the past two
years. I commend the clubs for all their hard work and generosity in providing
this boating opportunity to our community", stated Councillor Irene Jones whose
Ward 6 is home to the 3 boat clubs.

E.Y.C. is located at 300 Humber Bay Park Road West, and situated at the outer
end of the basin behind Marina Del Rey/Grand Harbour condos. Check the details
below.

Media are asked to arrive at noon, just prior to the boats' disembarking at
12:30 p.m.
