Media Advisory: Community to take action at Smog Citizens' Forum
Members of the public will make their actions count on issues of smog and its
impact on health. This is the fourth of a series of six citizens' forums taking
place in June across the city and the Greater Toronto Area.

Date: Thursday, June 6
Time: 7 to 9 p.m.
Place: The Assembly Hall, 1 Colonel Samuel Smith Park Drive,
Kipling and Lakeshore

The agenda includes an educational presentation by "Dr. Smog" Keith Stewart,
local success stories, break-out groups and findings.

A citizens' panel representing the community, youth, business, education and
health fields will attend all forums. A report on the call-to-action, together
with a Citizens' Declaration on Clean Air, will be presented to government
officials during the Smog Summit on June 21.

The third annual Smog Summit brings together government, citizens and
businesses to make new commitments to advancing the smog agenda in the Greater
Toronto Area. Smog Summit 2002 is sponsored by the City of Toronto, the
Province of Ontario's Ministry of the Environment and Energy, the Government of
Canada, Enbridge Consumers Gas, Toronto Hydro, the Toronto Atmospheric Fund,
the Clean Air Partnership and the GTA Clean Air Council.
