Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity: Students challenge councillors
The students of Maurice Cody Public School are challenging Toronto City
Councillors to commute to work by walking or cycling tomorrow as part of the
City of Toronto's Bike Week.

Councillor Michael Walker (Ward 22 St. Paul's) will set the pace for other
councillors by walking to Maurice Cody Public School to meet participating
students and Toronto District School Board trustee Shelley Laskin (Ward 22 St.
Paul's). Councillor Walker will then take transit to City Hall and will
continue the challenge by walking 6.28 km home at the end of the day.

Date: Wednesday, June 5
Time: 8:30 a.m.
Location: Maurice Cody Public School, 364 Belsize Dr.

"Walking Wednesday" is a Greenest City Toronto initiative, encouraging students
to get to school in active ways, promoting healthier students, cleaner air and
safer streets.

More than 80 per cent of students from Maurice Cody Public School participate
in "Walking Wednesday" on a weekly basis.
