Media Advisory: City helps to protect Toronto's trails

The City of Toronto's Road and Trail Safety Ambassadors are hosting an Off-road
Awareness Safety Information Stop (O.A.S.I.S) event that is part of a city-wide
campaign to encourage responsible trail use and respect for the environment.

Date: Saturday, August 10
Time: 11 a.m.
Place: Don Trail at Pottery Rd. between Broadview Ave. and Bayview Ave.

Ambassadors will be on hand answering the public's questions and distributing
materials on sharing and preserving trails. They will also be advising people
on how to protect one's health during a smog alert.

This O.A.S.I.S event is sponsored in part by TD Canada Trust Friends of the
Environment and Bell Sports who will be giving away prizes.

The Road and Trail Safety Ambassador program is a City of Toronto initiative
that provides safety information and raises environmental awareness for all
road and trail users. The Toronto Cycling Committee advises on this program.
