City task force holds second annual Don Narrows community event

The Task Force to Bring Back the Don is holding its second annual "Greening the
Don Narrows" community event on Sunday, September 29, from 10 a.m. until noon.

The Lower Don Narrows extend along the Don River between Gerrard and Queen
Streets East.

The public can join the members of the task force at Joel Weeks Park to
celebrate community efforts for greening the narrows. Marilyn Churley, MPP
Toronto Danforth, will participate in a ceremonial tree-planting. The event
also features a pancake breakfast, and lots of fun and games for the entire
family. Task force members will answer questions and hear ideas for a new
vision for the Narrows.

The park is at the corner of Thompson and Carroll Streets, just north of Queen
Street East and east of the river.
