Media Advisory/Photo Opportunity: Task force launches new safety awards
  
On Wednesday, February 13, Councillor Brad Duguid, Chair of the Community
Services Committee, and also Chair of the Task Force on Community Safety, will
join community representatives to launch a series of new awards to promote
safety in communities across Toronto.

This launch will also feature a short demonstration by instructors from
S.A.F.E., which stands for self-awareness for everyone. This program, offered
by the Parks and Recreation Division of Toronto Economic Development, Culture
and Tourism, offers unique, hands-on learning that helps people of all ages and
situations to feel safer in their own homes, on the street and during
interaction with other people.

Time: 12:30 p.m. (formal announcement: 12:45 p.m.)

Location: Council Members Lounge, Toronto City Hall
100 Queen St. W.


Members of the awards planning group and instructors and participants in the
S.A.F.E. program will be available for interviews.
