Jacques Israelievitch kicks off the fall season of the Performing Arts Lecture Series

Toronto (Thursday, October 3, 2002) - On Friday, October 4 at 7:30 p.m., the
Toronto Public Library will kick off its third season of the Performing Arts
Lecture Series with a multi-faceted presentation by Toronto Symphony Orchestra
concertmaster Jacques Israelievitch.

The series continues to offer insight into the meaning of success for
individuals whose lives are centered in creativity and
performance.

Mr. Israelievitch will discuss his career as a violin soloist, chamber musician
and conductor, and will talk about and then perform two of his favourite
musical pieces.

Doors open at 7:00 p.m. at the Toronto Reference Library, 789 Yonge Street,
just north of Bloor.

Other fall speakers in the series - this year sponsored by Starbucks - are
Kerry Stratton (November 4), Robert Lantos (November 22) and Albert Schultz
(December 4).
