Municipal election nominations open January 2, 2003
  
Nominations for the City of Toronto 2003 municipal election may be filed
beginning January 2, 2003. Positions include the offices of Mayor, Councillor
and trustee for the English public, English Separate, French public and French
separate school boards.

The term of office is from December 1, 2003 to November 30, 2006.

Candidates must provide a declaration of qualification, proof of qualifying
address within the City of Toronto or school board jurisdiction and pay the
appropriate filing fee.

Nomination papers are available at the City Clerk's Office at Toronto City
Hall, 100 Queen St. W., 5th floor, West Tower, from January 2, 2003 until
nominations close on Friday, September 26, 2003 at 5 p.m.

No person who proposes to be a candidate may solicit or accept contributions
for election purposes or incur campaign expenses until he or she has filed a
nomination paper.
