City staff removed memorial on Horner Avenue

The City of Toronto has confirmed that members of its staff were responsible
for removing the memorial for Justin Boudreau-Weiss on Horner Avenue. The
12-year-old boy was killed November 30 after being struck by a car.

"The City accepts full responsibility for the removal of the memorial and we
sincerely apologize to the family for this action," said Richard Butts, a
director with the City's Works and Emergency Services Department.

The City plans to work with the community to erect a permanent memorial at the
site.
