Media Advisory: The new Yonge-Dundas Square is looking for buskers

The new Yonge-Dundas square will be operating a street performance program to
enliven the Square, provide entertainment for the public and maintain the
busking tradition that has become synonymous with this high profile
intersection.

Date: Wednesday, July 31
Time: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Place: Metro Hall Square, 55 John Street (across from the Royal Alexander
Theatre)

A licensing system similar to those operated by Harbourfront Centre and the TTC
will be used to permit busking. Auditions will be held annually. The auditions
for the fall 2002- spring 2003 period are taking place on Wednesday, July 31 at
Metro Hall Square. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. Preference
will be given to acts that are unique, engaging and suitable for all age
groups. Auditions must be booked in advance by calling the facility coordinator
at 416-397-0809.
