Lastman Congratulates Premier Eves and New Cabinet

TORONTO - Toronto Mayor Mel Lastman today issued the following statement in
response to the swearing in of Premier Ernie Eves and the new provincial
cabinet.

"I want to congratulate Premier Eves and his entire cabinet on their
swearing-in this afternoon. I am looking forward to working with Premier Eves'
new team. I am also looking forward to continuing my work with Minister of
Municipal Affairs and Housing Chris Hodgson.

Today marks a new beginning in the future of Toronto and Ontario. I am
confident that we can make progress on a number of important issues in the next
several months.

With a new provincial government comes an opportunity for new relationships
between the three levels of government. We need to work together to serve the
people of Toronto better and more efficiently. There is only one taxpayer and
they deserve governments that work together to solve common problems."
