Media Advisory: Toronto Fire Services set to ignite Fire Prevention Week - "Team up for Fire Safety"
  
Toronto Fire Services East Command will be hosting Fire Prevention Week from
October 7 to October 12, 2002 at the Scarborough Town Centre. Staff from
Toronto Fire Services will be available to answer questions and provide tips
about fire safety, including information about carbon monoxide detectors and
smoke alarms.


Date: Monday, October 7 to Saturday, October 12
Time: Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Place: Scarborough Town Centre
300 Borough Dr. (401 and McCowan Rd.)


In addition, there will be presentations by a fire safety public educator with
Sparky assisting. These will be presented to Knob Hill Junior Public School
Grade 2 classes on October 8, 9 and 10, at 2 p.m. in the Centre Court.

Other highlights of Fire Prevention Week include daily draws for smoke alarms,
spin the fire safety wheel, computer fire games, and the "Hunt for Hazards
Display". Some antique pumpers will also be on display.
