Toronto's Cavalcade of Lights - A Month Long Holiday Celebration

Toronto Special Events - Nathan Phillips Square's Cavalcade of Lights is one of
Toronto's most visually stunning holiday season displays, featuring more than
100,000 dazzling lights. Illuminated from November 30th through to the New
Year, this incredible exhibition provides a magnificent backdrop for a month
long series of exciting events, transforming City Hall's civic square into
Toronto's premiere holiday season destination.

Cavalcade of Lights Festival:

Saturday, November 30, 7 to 11 p.m.
The Cavalcade of Lights Festival presented by Scotiabank is an evening of free
entertainment for all ages featuring the dramatic first lighting of the
Cavalcade of Lights exhibition and performances by the Nathaniel Dett Chorale
with Jackie Richardson and the Joe Sealy Quintet. New this year, a breathtaking
light and pyrotechnic show on City Hall's two towers features the sensational
aerial dance of Toronto's rock-climbing dance theatre, Hi Xposure and
unbelievable acrobatics executed from a floating helium balloon by Great
Britain's Heliosphere. Canada's Juno-winning David Usher keeps the show rocking
with a high-energy concert. The evening wraps up with a late night skating
party with live music.

Holiday Skating Parties:

Saturdays, December 7, 14 & 21, 8 - 11 p.m.
The month of fun continues with three free Saturday night skating parties on
Nathan Phillips Square's famous outdoor rink featuring a mix of live music and
some of Toronto's top radio DJs.

Designs in Ice:

Friday, Saturday & Sunday, December 27, 28, & 29
Designs in Ice presented by Scotiabank, a three-day ice-carving exhibition and
competition, is a 20-year holiday tradition at Nathan Phillips Square. This
year's theme established in partnership with Alliance Atlantis Motion Picture
Distribution The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, coincides with the December
18 release of the major motion picture. The public is invited to vote for
their favourite sculpture as part of the People's Choice Awards and join in two
holiday skating parties with live music, December 28 from 5 to 11 p.m. and
December 29 from 2 to 4 p.m.
