City of Toronto Statement
This morning a City of Toronto employee was taken into custody by the Toronto
Police Service. Members of the Police Service Fraud Squad then attended at the
Fair Wage & Labour Trades Office at Toronto City Hall to execute a search
warrant for files and computer records.

The City of Toronto is extremely disturbed by the allegations that have been
made against the City employee and are acting quickly to co-operate fully with
the Police in their investigation. At the same time, the City has commenced its
own review of the operations in this area.

Until the investigations are concluded, an interim manager will be appointed
immediately to manage the Fair Wage & Labour Trades Office to ensure that all
the standards of that office are strictly followed.

Because this is the subject of an ongoing Police investigation, the City of
Toronto will not comment publicly on this matter.
