Toronto's recovery from SARS is underway and on-track Toronto remains safe to visit and conduct business

TORONTO, Ontario, Canada - In the latest step towards Toronto's recovery from
SARS, the City today released a new video-clip message to the world.

In the video, Toronto Mayor Mel Lastman, Deputy Mayor Case Ootes and Toronto's
Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Sheela Basrur, remind the world of the many
benefits and opportunities for business travellers and tourists in what
continues to be a safe and healthy Toronto.

The video also contains footage of Toronto street life filmed yesterday. The
clip is being broadcast around the world via satellite. Part of the clip will
be available later today on the City of Toronto Web site at
http://www.toronto.ca.

"Toronto is a safe and healthy tourist and business destination and you'll be
hearing a lot about us soon," said Mayor Mel Lastman. "I want to personally
invite everyone to visit and enjoy our great city. See the wonderful spirit of
Toronto."

In an important message to businesses, Deputy Mayor Case Ootes said, "Business
travellers can come to Toronto and experience the outstanding benefits of doing
business in this great city. I encourage you to take full advantage of
Toronto's opportunities."

"I want to assure you our city is a safe and healthy place to live and visit,"
said Dr. Basrur. "We encourage you to come and visit - it's a terrific city."

Toronto is the capital of Ontario and Canada's largest city, with 2.5 million
people. The city offers some of the world's most outstanding restaurants,
hotels, shopping, theatre, galleries, sporting events and more.
