International BBQ is a tasty winter delight
Toronto Special Events - There is no better way for Torontonians to challenge
Jack Frost then to pull on a toque and venture out to Nathan Phillips Square
for the sizzling outdoor Winterlicious BBQ presented by American Express. From
Greek and Thai to Cajun and Afgan cuisine, visitors can sample from 20
restaurateurs as they offer up an international selection of food from the
grill to the smooth sounds of live music. The Winterlicious BBQ takes place
from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, February 8.

Local restaurants will be offering up their specialties at the Winterlicious
BBQ. Mr. Greek will have favourite tastes from Greece including souvlaki,
Wildfire Steakhouse will serve up their famous charcoal grilled fare and Chopan
Kabob House and Restaurant will sell tasty Afghan cuisine. Bebu Saha's Biryani
House will dish up flavourful Indian cuisine, The Whistling Oyster will have
delicious pad thai and many other restaurants will represent worldwide cuisine.
From samples to full meals, the price is right with everything $5 and under.

Outdoor nibblers can also bring their skates and take a spin around Toronto's
downtown outdoor rink to live music. Featured acts include the sizzling blend
of Latin guitars, percussion and vocals of Son Aché (noon), the high-energy,
jumpin blues show of Big Daddy G (1:30 p.m.) and the Juno Award-winning blues
sounds of Jack de Keyser (2:30 p.m.). The grooving continues with the tropical
techno sounds of Pan-Tiki Sound System (3:30 p.m.) and the precision-packed
horn-lines of the Soca, Calypso, Reggae, Soul, R&B and Dancehall blend of Neu
Jenarashun (5 p.m.).

Dare to forget the weather at the party hosted by the world's coolest winter
city. Toronto's newest winter festival, WinterCity, built on the foundation of
the long-running WinterFest, creates a new tradition of winter revellry.
Running from January 30 - February 12, 2004, this 14-day celebration gives
center stage to the city's renowned culture, creativity and cuisine. With
stellar free indoor and outdoor programming, the hugely popular prix fixe
restaurant promotion Winterlicious presented by American Express plus tons of
winter programming and discounts at Toronto's attractions, WinterCity provides
the perfect opportunity to sample the lush culture and intriguing diversity
