Media advisory: Rock'n'roll and ride

The City of Toronto, Councillor Olivia Chow, Co-Chair of the Toronto Cycling
Committee, and the Cycling Ambassadors encourage anyone planning to attend the
Molson Canadian Rocks for Toronto concert to take the alternative way and ride
their bicycle. Individuals interested in alleviating the potential traffic and
transit congestion will meet at Nathan Phillips Square to join a group ride to
Wilson subway station.

Photo opportunities:
Noon - cyclists converge at Nathan Phillips Square

12:30 p.m. - group departs

1:30 p.m. - cyclists arrive at Wilson subway station

Accompanying the group ride will be ten City Cycling Ambassadors - cycling
experts who are prepared to give safety tips and route suggestions. Cyclists
will be able to lock their bicycles to the perimeter fence surrounding
Downsview Park.

This event will be an excellent opportunity to demonstrate the City's Bikeway
Network, an ambitious project that will increase the number of bicycle-friendly
streets. The guiding principle behind this project is to ensure that all
Toronto residents are within a five-minute bicycle ride to the Bikeway Network.

The Bikeway Network and the Cycling Ambassadors are two of the many components
of the Toronto Bike Plan, which outlines a vision for a more bicycle-friendly
city.
