Yonge Street Resurfacing - Lawrence Avenue to York Mills Road

Works and Emergency Services - The City of Toronto will be resurfacing Yonge
Street, from Lawrence Avenue to York Mills Road, beginning July 21 and
continuing until November.

The work includes replacing the asphalt surface; replacing most of the existing
sidewalks (including curbs and gutters); widening local sidewalks; and adding
streetscaping features such as rows of interlocking stone in some areas.

Work on the east side of Yonge Street from Lawrence Avenue to York Mills will
take place between July 21 and mid-September while work on the west side of the
street will be performed from mid-September to early November.

During all stages of construction, at least one lane of vehicular traffic will
be maintained in each direction. Driveways will be constructed in two stages
to allow for access at all times. Parking restrictions on side streets will be
temporarily relaxed.

A minimum of one pedestrian crossing will be maintained at all signalized
intersections. Access to bus and subway stops as well as to businesses,
churches and residences will be provided at all times.

Work will generally take place between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m., Monday
to Friday. When required, some weekend work will be performed. The contractor
performing the work will comply with noise by-laws established by the City of
Toronto.
