Media Advisory: Portuguese-Canadians celebrate 50 years in Canada
  
Toronto's Portuguese community hosts an evening of celebration to mark the 50th
anniversary of the arrival of the first immigrants to Canada from Portugal.

Date: Monday, January 13
Time: opening remarks begin at 6:45 p.m.
Place: Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen St. W.

Deputy Mayor Case Ootes and Councillor Mario Silva will be joining the 50th
Anniversary - Celebrating Portuguese-Canadians Organizing Committee - for this
inaugural event, kicking-off a year of festivities. The evening will feature a
roundtable discussion with some of the early immigrants who will be sharing
their experiences and recollections.
