City to announce pilot project to mentor immigrants
  
The City of Toronto tomorrow will announce plans for a pilot project to mentor
internationally trained professionals. The announcement will be made by
Councillor David Miller (Ward 13 Parkdale-High Park), Chair of the City of
Toronto Working Group on Immigration and Refugee Issues. Representing the Mayor
will be Councillor Sherene Shaw (Ward 39 Scarborough-Agincourt), the City's
Diversity Advocate.

Date: Thursday, September 11
Time: 8:30 a.m.
Location: Manulife Financial, 200 Bloor St. E, North Tower

The announcement will take place at the inaugural meeting of the Toronto Region
Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC). Representatives of the following
organizations will also be making announcements of other initiatives:
Government of Canada, Halton Region, The Maytree Foundation, General Electric
and Manulife Financial.
