Don Valley Parkway closed for maintenance this weekend : Updated
Works and Emergency Services -- All lanes of the Don Valley Parkway will be
closed in both directions from Highway 401 to the Gardiner Expressway for
maintenance and construction work from Friday, May 2 to Monday, May 5 at 5:00

Northbound lanes will be closed on Friday, May 2 beginning at 3:00 a.m.
Southbound lanes will be closed at 11:00 a.m.

The work activities planned include construction zone setup for the Wynford
Drive Bridge rehabilitation project, construction zone setup for the
installation of three new overhead changeable message signs, spring catch basin
clearing, debris removal, general cleanup, routine sign maintenance, utility
work and sweeping operations.

Three construction work zones will be in place on Monday morning with narrowed
lanes and reduced speed limits between York Mills Road and Lawrence Avenue, at
Wynford Drive and between Milwood Road and Pottery Road.

"It is important that the City perform this work to ensure safe and comfortable
travel conditions on the Don Valley Parkway," said David Kaufman, General
Manager, Transportation Services, Works and Emergency Services. "Regular
maintenance work also results in the long-term protection of the City's
transportation assets."

Alternative traffic routes are available and the public is encouraged to
consider using public transit (TTC and GO) as a convenient, alternative choice.
