Media Advisory: Franklin Children's Garden preview
Franklin the Turtle and children from local schools will be on hand at a
special preview of the Franklin Children's Garden to thank corporations and
organizations who are helping to make a special place for children.

Date: Thursday, June 5

Time: 10:30 a.m.
Transportation to the Toronto Islands, via the Toronto Island Ferry departs
from Queen's Quay at foot of Bay Street at 10:30 a.m.

11 a.m.
Official preview begins

Ferries returning from Toronto Islands depart every 30 minutes on the hour and
half hour.

Location: Toronto Islands (follow the Franklin signs).

Please note: In case of rain, the preview will take place at the Island
Public/Natural Science School, 30 Centre Island Park.
Transportation to the school will be available at the landing dock on the
Toronto Islands.

The Franklin Children's Garden on the Toronto Islands, is inspired by Franklin
the Turtle, the star of the popular storybooks written by Paulette Bourgeois
and illustrated by Brenda Clark, and published by Kids Can Press. The garden
will provide a hands-on outdoor environment where children can learn about the
natural world and enjoy the great adventure of reading. The Franklin Children's
Garden is currently under construction. It is scheduled to open in 2004.
