Mayor Mel Lastman expresses shock and sorrow at the murder of Holly Jones

Mayor Mel Lastman, today, expressed shock and deep sorrow at the senseless
murder of 10-year-old Holly Jones.

"On behalf of all of Toronto's great citizens, I want to express my deepest
sympathy and offer my prayers to little Holly's parents, family and friends.
Her abduction and murder is the most senseless and barbaric of crimes
imaginable. I am mortified," said Mayor Lastman.

The Mayor also expressed his confidence that Toronto's police force will
capture Holly's killer and bring this person to justice.

"If you know anything - anything at all - that can assist the police, I urge
you to contact them. This horrific murder has shaken all of Toronto. Nothing is
too small to report to police.

"Society's most vulnerable - our children - are too often the victims of
senseless crimes. We all have a role to play in ensuring our children are aware
of their surroundings and that, tragically, there are people out there who want
to do them harm," said Mayor Lastman.
