Media Advisory: City honours community groups to celebrate Children's Services Month
  
On Wednesday, June 18, the City of Toronto will honour the contributions of
community agencies and programs serving young children as the City celebrates
Children's Services Month, which Toronto City Council has officially proclaimed
from May 11 to June 15.

Date: Wednesday, June 18

Time: Reception at 9 a.m.; ceremony starts at 10 a.m.

Place: Council Chamber, Toronto City Hall, 100 Queen St. W.

Councillor Olivia Chow, the City's Children and Youth Advocate, will host this
eighth annual event. Nearly 125 agencies and programs serving children and
families throughout Toronto will be honoured with Certificates of Recognition
for their outstanding service delivery.

The ceremony will feature a performance by ten-year-old Alyssa Nienhuis. Annie
Kidder, spokesperson for People for Education will deliver the keynote address.

Toronto City Council annually proclaims the four weeks between Mothers' Day and
Fathers' Day as Children's Services Month.
