Media Advisory: Reducing smog with community forums
The second in a series of Smog Summit Community Forums that lead up to the
fourth annual Smog Summit on June 20 will take place in Mississauga. Another
component of this year's Smog Summit activities is a GTA-wide idle-free
campaign in which the City of Mississauga will participate.

Date: Thursday, June 5
Time: 7 p.m.
Location: 301 Burnhamthorpe Rd. W.
Noel Ryan Auditorium, Central Library Atrium

The public and the media can learn more about smog and energy reduction
initiatives from local businesses, such as Dupont Canada, and community groups
that have volunteered their time to participate in this event. The focus of
this year's Smog Summit is making the connection between smog and energy use.

The remaining forums will take place on June 12 at 7 p.m. (Ajax Community
Centre) and June 14 at 1 p.m. (Millennium Park, Markham). The City of Toronto's
anti-idling enforcement blitz, which ends on June 8, encourages motorists to
avoid unnecessary idling and to take action to reduce smog.
